A SLOW WALK
IN THE FOREST (2020)
At the end of 1999 the hurricane Lothar swept across Switzerland and left tracks of devastation in many forests.
As a result, the way in which the forests had previously been managed has been reconsidered in many places, also with the aim of growing a natural forest that would be more resistant to possible similar events. Instead of the previous monocultures, light mixed forests were created, where also old rhizomes and fallen trees are left to rot, which helps to achieve greater biodiversity.
