REMEMBER (2020)
do you remember?
I get on my way
into the landscapes of my memory
into those times that now seem long past
do you remember?
back when we wandered the world without fear
aware of the strength of our own thoughts
back when we met each other without distrust
through the open window
a gentle gust of wind
carries the soft distant rustling of the leaves
out of the trees to me
the breeze gently puffs the white linen curtain
moving slowly
its perforated ornamental embroidered plant motifs
through light and shadow
from somewhere far away
the bang of a door slamming
echoes through the labyrinthine dark rooms
of the big old house
do you remember those days?
